Ashlynn And Raggedy Pippi Annie!
I just wanted to share a photo of my granddaughter and a special order Pippi Raggedy Annie I made. When I was taking a photo of my new Raggedy Ann doll Ashlynn wanted to pose with her.
So here they are, aren't they both so Cute!!!
She's a big girl raggedy, I will be posting her soon on my website.
As you can see Ashlynn is grandma's lil helper, she just loves working with me. Ashlynn tells me when she grows up she is going to be an artist like grandma and work with me.
Well will see if that happens, my poor 3 kids were all subjected to this crazy crafters life and none of them are doing what I do (except my youngest who still has to help out). In fact the further away from all this the happier they are. Sad but true, maybe my Lil Ashlynn will be different. I can only wish, I would love to teach her to sew and paint.
My daughter is really great at this, she is a natural. She works really fast and does a great job, but has no interest in my work other then helping me out when I REALLY need her. Which is not as often as I would like, but I will take all the help I can get!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit and have a great day,
Rosalie

Lemonade Addiction!
Well I don't know if calling it an Addiction is correct, but I have had my hand squeezed lemonade drink on a daily basis. It's been so hot here and lemonade just seems to quench my thirst. Thanks to my beautiful lemon tree, that has given us so many lemons this year, I am able to have my drink daily.
Here is a photo of my lemon tree, she's a little bare looking now.
Funny it's the little things that seem to make us happiest. Would you like to share with me what makes you happy?
Have a great weekend,
Rosalie

Making More Hours In My Day!!!
I have been trying for the past few days to come up with a work schedule and some type of system to organize my millions of pieces of papers called notes,to do list, ideas, etc. that I have everywhere. What I am doing now is not working for me.
I am trying to figure out a system that will make life a little easier for me. I needed something to keep everything together in one place. So I designed a form that I can jot a whole week on, I hope this will work out. It's in the testing stage right now, I may need to tweak it till I get it right.
Well going over my emails today I received this email Do You Have it in You? Business Realities Part Two Lisa talks about having structure in your business by having a defined workday. I also ran across an article "Work Smarter Not Harder" where Alice also explains that by having a structured work day you will get more work done. The reason is you have x amount of hours to get all your work done, so you work faster and stay focused on your work and nothing else.
It all makes sense, where I don't have defined work hours so I tend to get distracted and seem to take longer getting things done. I figure I am going to be here all day and night so I have no reason to rush.
If I have a quitting time where I can actually close down shop, well that really sounds great to me!!! I may actually get More Hours In My Day!
So I am setting up work hours for myself and see how it goes, I may need to tweak them till I find what works for me.
What are your struggles? I would like to hear them, if you have found something that is working for you would you share it with me? I would love to hear your suggestions.
Do you have defined work hours? What type of organizing system do you use?
Well off to start my work day, thanks for listening,
Rosalie

A Crafter's Poem
I found this poem and I think many of you can relate:
A CRAFTER'S POEM
Crafts are here, crafts are there.
My craft supplies are everywhere.
I really should clean this mess,
But I like it, I must confess.
Floor is littered, chairs are piled,
Kitchen’s looking pretty wild.
On the table counter too,
Seems that any place will do.
Hall is stacked with cartons high,
Filled with things folks like to buy.
Garage is full, but so far…
There’s still room to park the car.
never have an idle day,
New ideas come my way.
Don’t know yet what I’ll create,
But at least my imagination’s great.
My family smiles, they don’t complain,
Although at times I know I'm a pain.
But when all is said and done,
I really am a crafty one !!!!

Have a crafty day!

I'm Back!!!
Wow how time does fly!!! I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. So much has happened since then. I want to share with you a little of what has been going on around here at My Country Cottage/Raggedy Dollys.
First of all just before Christmas I had a girls day out with my Mom and Sister we had a fun filled day at Disneyland. I have to tell you it is so much more enjoyable going without lil ones!!! Is that selfish or what? I had my share of going with lil ones in fact I was just there this summer with my grandaughter, so I think it's my turn now.
Disneyland is so beautiful that time of year with all the decorations and Christmas lights. They had a beautiful parade and firework show. It was the perfect end to a very busy year for me!!! We stayed till they closed the park around midnight and boy did we eat, so much good food there.
Now to the not so fun stuff I have been cleaning and organizing both my wood and dolly workshops (between filling orders).
My workshops are all ready for the new year and the next run!!! I can find everything a lot quicker, so I am hoping it speeds up production for me.
I have been designing some new patterns, I have so many ideas in my head this year. I will post here as soon as I complete a new item!!!
Today I worked all day catching up on my computer work, I updated my websites with a partial list of this years craft shows. I will be adding more to my list as soon as I get the dates for the rest of my craft shows.
I also changed out the featured items on my website with some new ones. So if you have a minute go take a look My Country Cottage and Raggedy Dollys
I am excited with the New Year, I have so many new ideas that I can hardly wait to do them all. I just seem to need more hours in my day 24 hours just doesn't seem to be enough time!!!
Well I am off to do some more computer work, thanks for stopping by for a visit,
Rosalie
